Kilmuir House is situated in the picturesque village of Dunvegan, in the north-west of Skye. Approached on the A863 from Sligachan, which is dominated by the awesome Cuillin mountain range, the road twists and turns through rugged scenery before reaching this spacious Bed and Breakfast offering accommodation to suit all requirements. Dunvegan is home to the world's oldest inhabited castle, Dunvegan Castle, home to the MacLeod clan. The castle overlooks the beautiful Loch Dunvegan, a natural playground for seals to bask and birds of prey to soar in the shadows of the dominant MacLeods Tables. Just a few miles away, on the road to Glendale, you will find "The Three Chimneys", the world-famous restaurant on the shore of Loch Dunvegan. The restaurant's reputation is well-deserved, serving fine food and wine to complement the stunning scenery. Other attractions in the north-west of Skye include Neist Point, the Coral Beaches, the Fairy Bridge, and the remains of Trumpan churchyard. This part of Skye is cloaked in folklore! |
